Reishi Mushroom
In ancient China, reishi was known as the 'Mushroom of Immortality' and the 'Herb of Spiritual Potency.' For 2,000 years it was reserved exclusively for emperors and royalty, considered so rare and powerful that common people rarely encountered it. TCM texts dating to 200 AD describe it as the highest herb for longevity. It was so revered that forging or possessing fake reishi was punishable by death.
