Chamomile
Chamomile has been used medicinally for 5,000 years. Ancient Egyptians dedicated it to their sun god Ra and used it to treat malaria. The Anglo-Saxons called it 'maythen' and considered it one of their nine sacred herbs. Peter Rabbit's mother gave him chamomile tea after his ordeal in Mr. McGregor's garden — a literary reference that reflects centuries of its use as a children's soothing remedy.
