Crowfoot Grass (Dactyloctenium aegyptium) is a herb used in the Caribbean Folk Medicine tradition to help with Fever, Digestive Issues, Skin Health, and UTI. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.
Botanical background
Dactyloctenium aegyptium, or Egyptian crowfoot grass is a member of the family Poaceae native in Africa. The plant mostly grows in heavy soils at damp sites. It is known as "เถดเทเถงเท เถญเถซ - putu thana" by local Sri Lankaan people.
