About Curupa

Curupa (Anadenanthera peregrina) is a herb used in the Amazonian Plant Medicine tradition to help with Respiratory Issues, Fever, Headache, and Digestive Issues. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, taken internally.

Botanical background

Anadenanthera peregrina, also known as yopo, jopo, cohoba, parica or calcium tree, is a perennial tree of the genus Anadenanthera native to the Caribbean and South America. It grows up to 20 m (66 ft) tall, and has a thorny bark. Its flowers grow in small, pale yellow to white spherical clusters resembling Acacia (e.g. wattle) inflorescences. Quality tips

When buying Curupa, look for: certified organic labelling, clearly stated country of origin, third-party lab testing for heavy metals and pesticides, and a batch expiry date. Standardised extracts offer consistent dosing; bulk dried herbs are more economical for regular use. Avoid very cheap, unlabelled products β€” quality varies enormously.
