Echinacea
Native American tribes including the Cheyenne, Sioux, and Comanche used echinacea as a universal remedy for over 400 years before European contact. It was the most widely used medicinal plant of the Great Plains peoples. In the late 1800s it became the best-selling herbal remedy in the United States, later fading with the rise of antibiotics before experiencing a major revival in the 20th century.
