Ephedra (Canutillo) (Ephedra antisyphilitica) is a herb used in the Latin American Curanderismo tradition to help with Asthma, Respiratory Issues, Cold, and UTI. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, taken internally.

Botanical background

Ephedra antisyphilitica is a plant species native to the southern Great Plains of the United States (Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas), and also to northeastern Mexico (Nuevo León, Coahuila, San Luis Potosí).
