Gordolobo (Gnaphalium conoideum) is a herb used in the Latin American Curanderismo tradition to help with Cough, Respiratory Issues, Asthma, and Bronchitis. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, taken internally.

Botanical background

Pseudognaphalium obtusifolium (formerly Gnaphalium obtusifolium) is a member of the Asteraceae family. Annual herb to one meter, stem white-tomentose, involucres 5–7 millimetres (0.20–0.28 in) long, cream colored or brown, with cream-colored flower heads. Leaves opposite, lance-linear, sessile, tomentose below and olive green above.

1–3 cups daily
  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Gordolobo in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

  • Pack dried Gordolobo into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
