Juniper (Artsuu) (Juniperus sabina) is a herb used in the Mongolian Traditional Medicine tradition to help with UTI, Arthritis, Kidney Support, and Skin Health. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.

Botanical background

Juniperus sabina, the savin juniper or savin, is a species of juniper native to the mountains of central and southern Europe and western and central Asia, from Spain to eastern Siberia, typically growing at altitudes of 1,000-3,300 m ASL.

Tea / Infusion

1–3 cups daily
  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Juniper (Artsuu) in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

20–40 drops in water, 2–3× daily
  • Pack dried Juniper (Artsuu) into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
  • Strain and store in a dark dropper bottle.

  • Grind dried Juniper (Artsuu) into a fine powder.
