About Koromiko

Koromiko (Veronica salicifolia) is a herb used in the Māori Rongoa tradition to help with Diarrhea, Digestive Issues, Wound Healing, and Fever. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.

Botanical background

Hebe stricta, commonly called koromiko, is a plant of the family Plantaginaceae, which is endemic to New Zealand. Recently Hebe stricta has been reclassified and the botanical name has changed to Veronica stricta.

  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Koromiko in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

  • Pack dried Koromiko into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
