Renaquilla (Clusia rosea) is a herb used in the Amazonian Plant Medicine tradition to help with Wound Healing, Fracture Healing, Inflammation, and Skin Health. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.

Botanical background

Clusia rosea, the autograph tree, copey, cupey, balsam apple, pitch-apple, and Scotch attorney, is a tropical and sub-tropical plant species in the genus Clusia. The name Clusia major is sometimes misapplied to this species.

Tea / Infusion

1–3 cups daily
  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Renaquilla in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

  • Pack dried Renaquilla into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
  • Strain and store in a dark dropper bottle.

  • Grind dried Renaquilla into a fine powder.
