Stixis (Dây Gùi) (Stixis suaveolens) is a herb used in the Vietnamese Traditional Medicine tradition to help with Fever, Wound Healing, Inflammation, and Liver Support. The aerial parts and leaves are the parts traditionally used, used both internally and topically.

Botanical background

Stixis suaveolens is a species of liana in the family Resedaceae; no subspecies are listed in the Catalogue of Life. It is found in India, southern China and Indo-China; in Vietnam it may be called cây tôn nấm.

  • Steep 1–2 tsp of dried Stixis (Dây Gùi) in freshly boiled water for 5–10 minutes.
  • Cover while steeping.
  • Strain and drink.

  • Pack dried Stixis (Dây Gùi) into a jar and cover with 40–60% alcohol.
  • Seal and steep for 4–6 weeks, shaking daily.
