Gratitude Practice

A brief daily habit of noticing and naming what's going well.

3-5 minutes per session.
Daily.

About this practice

Deliberately noting things you're grateful for — even briefly — is one of the simplest positive-psychology interventions with consistent evidence for improving mood and life satisfaction over weeks of regular practice.

How to do it

  1. Each day (often easiest at the same time, like before bed), think of 3 specific things you're grateful for.
  2. Be specific rather than general — 'the way sunlight came through the kitchen window this morning' beats just 'my house'.
  3. Write them down if possible — the act of writing strengthens the effect versus just thinking it.
  4. Notice how it felt to focus on each one, even briefly.
  5. Keep a running list or journal to look back on during harder days.
