Dry Brushing
Brushing the skin with a firm, dry brush to stimulate circulation and lymph flow.
3-5 minutes per session.
3-5x per week, before showering.
About this practice
Dry brushing uses a natural-bristle brush on dry skin, always stroking toward the heart, to gently exfoliate and stimulate surface blood and lymph circulation. It's a simple, low-cost self-care ritual often paired with sauna or bath routines.
How to do it
- Use a natural-bristle brush with a long handle for hard-to-reach areas, on completely dry skin.
- Start at the feet and brush upward toward the heart in long, firm strokes.
- Work up the legs, then the arms toward the shoulders, then the torso toward the chest.
- Use light-to-medium pressure — enough to feel stimulating, not to redden or irritate the skin.
- Shower afterward to rinse away exfoliated skin, and moisturize once dry.

Cautions
- Avoid broken skin, rashes, sunburn, or varicose veins directly.
